All these displays can be viewed behind glass in complete safety They show the amazing life of the honey bee before your very eyes, and are enhanced by an audio-visual presentation about the life of the honeybee. Displays of posters, photographs, beehives and other fascinating items about beekeeping complement the live action. The hives, video and displays can be enjoyed by all ages and with the help of knowledgeable staff, the visitor can gain insight into the fascinating world of the honeybee.

In 1999, a tropical ant colony was installed in the exhibition. These ants grow gardens from decaying leaves to feed their young. This exhibit shows how social organisation occurs in insects other then bees and wasps.
