Honey from New Quay Honey Farm

At New Quay Farm we keep 500 hives of bees. These are kept all over the counties of Ceredigion and North Pembrokeshire in groups of 10 to 12. The unspoilt countryside of this part of West Wales means that our honey comes almost entirely from the wild flowers that grow in the hedgerows, valleys and clifftop areas. The prevailing weather ensures that yields are not high and therefore the honey is always in short supply, but the flavour is superb and among the best in the world.

The honey is supplied to many top hotels and delicatessens and is rightly prized among connoisseurs of good taste. We also produce a Welsh Mountain Honey from hives taken to the mountains in Mid-Wales in July. This honey is mainly from Bell Heather, Rose Bay Willowherb, Thistle and other mountain plants. The Heather honey is from Ling Heather which flowers in August and September. The Borage honey is a mild flavoured honey which is often used in tea and coffee.

Great care is taken with the extraction and storage of the honey so that it reaches you in the finest condition possible. It is cold-extracted to preserve the essential enzymes and proteins, which makes honey such a health giving food.

This honey is available in 8oz and 12oz (227g & 340g)
